From June 9th to 10th, 2025, the Liaoning Province College Students’ Orienteering Off Road Championship was held at our university. The competition was hosted by the Education Department of Liaoning Province, organized by Jinzhou Medical University, and co-organized by the Liaoning Orienteering and Expansion Sports Association. 27 university representative teams from Liaoning province participated in the competition. Principal Wen Youfeng and Vice-president Wen Youfeng attended the opening ceremony and delivered the speech. The opening ceremony was presided over by Ma Zhuang, Dean of the School of Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation.
In his speech, Wen Youfeng expressed gratitude for the guidance and assistance provided by the Provincial Department of Education to the development of JZMU and addressed the welcome to the athletes, referees, and coaches. He stated that it was the support and recognition from the Provincial Department of Education for JZMU as the sports competition base for universities in Liaoning Province to host the Liaoning Province College Student’s Orienteering Off Road Championship this time.
The competition lasted for one and a half days and included three events: the 100-meter orienteering race, the short distance orienteering race, and the team orienteering expansion points race. After intense competition, JZMU’s athletes lived up to expectations and won 6 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals, as well as the first place in the team’s total score. This fully demonstrated the excellent qualities of JZMUers in pursuing excellence and scaling new heights.
